Part of the Te Wāhipounamu World Heritage Area, these remote sounds are steeped in history and framed by dramatic scenery. Get close to native birdlife and marine species, with opportunities for kayaking, gentle walks and even fishing straight from the purpose-built catamaran.
With a maximum of just 18 guests onboard, enjoy an intimate journey enriched by stories from the knowledgeable crew. Take in sweeping views from the decks or from one of nine climate-controlled cabins, each with sea views and a private ensuite. Unwind in the top-deck hot tub and savour freshly prepared meals by the onboard chef.

Fiordland Jewel, Southern Fiord Itinerary:
Day One:
Fly via helicopter from Te Anau and land directly onboard the Fiordland Jewel which will be waiting in Preservation Inlet or Dusky Sound..
Days 2-5:
Cruise through Breaksea, Dusky Sounds, and Preservation and Chalky Inlets. Activities on these days may include:
Bush, island and beach walks including the most south-westerly point of the South Island, Puysegur Point
Visit historic Captain Cook and Gold Rush sites
View incredible wildlife - Dusky Sound and its surrounding fiords are havens for marine and bird life
Some fishing to catch a feed, if you wish to do so
Kayaking and tender boat excursions
Day 6-7:
Start to head back north through Breaksea and Doubtful Sounds. At Doubtful Sound on Day 7, you'll disembark and take a coach over the Wilmot Pass, a boat over Lake Manapouri to return to Manapouri. Transfers available to Te Anau to collect cars.
Complimentary parking available in Te Anau
Transfers to/from Queenstown can also be arranged at a cost.

About Fiordland Jewel:
The Fiordland Jewel is a 24m, three-deck custom-built catamaran offering a high-quality 5-star marine experience. Designed and constructed by owner and skipper Rob Swale, it accommodates 18–22 guests in nine climate-controlled cabins, each with its own ensuite bathroom. The vessel features a helicopter pad, top-deck hot tub, and full windows throughout, providing exceptional comfort and panoramic views of Fiordland and Stewart Island. Powered by twin Scania engines, the catamaran cruises at 16 knots with a crew of 4–5.
Cabins are designed for luxury and privacy: the Governor Cabin offers a super-king bed and full-width forward windows; Captain Cook Cabins feature super-king beds with sea views; Endeavour Cabins have king single beds; and Resolution Cabins include twin single bunks. The Fiordland Jewel also carries a tender and eight kayaks, making it ideal for private charters, overnight Milford Sound cruises, and small-group scenic expeditions.
