Cruise Description

8 Night cruise departing roundtrip from Stockholm onboard Azamara Quest.

Begin your voyage in Stockholm, where modern Scandinavian architecture intermingles with impressive palaces that could be straight from the pages of your favorite childhood fairytales. From Sweden, you’ll cross the Baltic Sea to Estonia and its delightful capital city. Tallinn’s colorful, medieval streets are perfect for exploring on foot or by bike.

The next stop on your journey is Russia. Extravagant palaces, shimmering golden domes, lavish churches - you could easily spend three days simply marveling at the architecture of St. Petersburg.

After St. Petersburg, your journey continues in Finland. Helsinki is a charming city that’s full of surprises! Here, you’ll notice a blend of traditional and modern architecture and design that borrows from Russian and Nordic influences, along with some quirky touches that are purely Finnish.

Your Baltic voyage concludes in Mariehamn, a picturesque city perched on an archipelago of 6,500 islands at the entrance to the Gulf of Bothnia. This cozy community prides itself on its local culture and cuisine - in fact, Mariehamn’s restaurants and cafés import very little other than coffee, tea, and pepper.

Highlights of this cruise:

Stockholm, Sweden
Experience the best of northern charm in Stockholm. A perfect balance of green space, Scandinavian architecture, and enchanting palaces, Stockholm is the perfect city to relax and explore. Start in Gamla Stan—the city’s oldest section—for a glimpse at how life used to be. Then, make your way to SoFo for delicious meals and specialty shopping. And don’t forget to check out the ABBA Museum!

Tallinn, Estonia
Embrace the wonderfully independent spirit of Tallinn. During your visit, take a walk up Toompea hill for a lovely view of Tallinn’s diverse skyline and architecture. Then, visit St. Olav’s Church, believed to have been the world’s tallest 1625. From here, you’re not far from St. Catherine’s Passage, where you’ll discover many delightful craft workshops to explore.

St. Petersburg, Russia
Affectionately referred to as the Venice of the North, St. Petersburg is home to an incredibly diverse array of architecture. From golden domed churches to opulent palaces, St. Petersburg is certain to leave you in awe. In particular, don’t miss the Winter Palace, located within the Hermitage complex, one of the world’s largest museums and home to more three million works of art and artifacts!

Helsinki, Finland
Helsinki is a successful blend of traditional and modern architecture and design, interwoven with the beauty of nature, and a few quirky, purely Finnish touches—such as a church built inside a giant chunk of granite. Popular attractions include the Ateneum Art Museum, Esplanade Park, Design District Helsinki, Market Square, and Suomenlinna Sea Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Mariehamn, Aland, Finland
Our Finland cruises bring you to beautiful Mariehamn, the capital of Aland, a scenic archipelago of 6,500 islands. With Finland’s warmest climate and scenic, sheltered harbors, this cozy town holds a proud seafaring history. Explore one of several cultural and maritime museums, venture inland to the vast surrounding farmland and countryside, or peruse local shops and cafes for traditional Finnish crafts and cuisine.
